The Wedding Guild provides a crucial service in facilitating all weddings at St. Luke’s. Guild members assist the officiating clergy by making sure the various components of the occasion run smoothly, in a timely manner, and according to St. Luke’s guidelines.
Members of the Wedding Guild are assigned to serve in pairs on a rotating basis by the guild chair. They commit to attending the wedding rehearsal, where they go through the order of procession and make sure all people in the wedding party know their roles. On the day of the ceremony, guild members provide the photographer with guidelines, show members of the bridal party where to gather and, if needed, where to dress, and help pin corsages and boutonnieres. They also may serve as ushers during Communion.
