Pastoral Care at St. Luke's
Above the altar at St. Luke’s is a wonderful mural of Jesus as the Good Shepherd. Every time we worship together in our sanctuary, we face that powerful visual symbol of God who cares for us and calls us to care for each other. In response to Peter’s declaration, “Yes, Lord; you know I love you.” Jesus said, “Tend my sheep.” (John 21:16)
The word pastoral comes from the Latin word for “shepherd,” and that’s what pastoral care is about at St. Luke’s: clergy and lay volunteers working together to tend, to pray for, to visit, to listen, to care for those in our congregation who are sick, lonely, grieving, in need of healing, or overwhelmed in crisis or transition.
If you or a family member is in need of supportive care, please let us know!
