The Fellowship of Intercessors
Intercessors continued their daily praying for parishioners, their family members and friends experiencing illness, death and dying. Eleven parishioners meet monthly to review a list of those requesting prayer. Every day a member or several pray for everyone on this list. The practice of praying with intention and naming those in need is a faith practice that has lasted through time and offers a spiritual power for those praying as well as those receiving prayer. Finally, St. Luke’s priests continued leading services every other month at Canterbury as well as offering pastoral counseling for those preparing for marriage and parishioners experiencing illness, death and dying. Priests, along with Community of Hope ministers, also offer prayer and conversation with parishioners in hospitals and their homes. Eucharistic visitors work alongside priests by offering Communion to parishioners at home or a facility when they are not able to attend worship on a regular basis.
