Children and Youth Choirs

2023 Chorister Festival
Register here for St. Luke's 2023 Chorister Festival.
Choristers at St. Luke's play a vital role in worship as members of our choirs for children and youth. Choristers meet weekly during our program year (August-May) to learn repertoire, develop skills in musicianship, and to strengthen their vocal technique, all while having fun together. Chorister training is based on the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM) Voice for Life curriculum which, in addition to developing their musicianship, helps Choristers learn how their music integrates into our liturgy. Children and youth choirs lead worship several times during the program year. They may also participate in special services, such as Choral Evensong, Christmas Eve, the Festival of Light, and others. Choristers ages 10 and above are encouraged to participate each summer in one of the annual training courses offered by the RSCM throughout the USA.
Every week, our Children’s Sunday School program includes both class time and singing time with Colleen Kingston, our Associate Director of Children and Youth Music. Participation in this singing time does not obligate children to sing in church as a chorister, though all are welcome to. If your child would like to participate in choir performances, please contact Colleen Kingston.
