March Fill the Baskets: All Saints’ Refugee Ministries

This month, we will collect items for All Saints’ Refugee Ministries, an organization that recently began a partnership with St. Luke’s. All Saints’ Refugee Ministries serves 60+ families from the Middle East, East and Central Africa, Burma/Myanmar, Nepal, and Latin America. The organization hosts a zoom tutoring program in Academic Support in Reading and Math and English for beginning speakers for students in 2nd-12th Grade, and they currently have 50 students and tutors. The zoom tutoring program includes in person trauma diminishing and community building activities, such as the Swimming Buddies program with pool parties once a month May-September, along with other seasonal in person events. The organization also works with New American Pathways and Inspiritus to offer hospitality to newly arriving families, and they offer a Medical Navigator volunteer position where individuals work in teams of three to help newly arrived families or families with chronic medical conditions to access and obtain medical care.
Needs: Children’s books, new or used, for elementary (preK-5th grade) level students.
Donation baskets may be found at the reception desk and in the Narthex on Sundays and weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
