The Second Sunday of Easter - April 3, 2016

3/31/2016

In this Easter season, we rejoice in the resurrection of Christ. Let us then pray in union with our risen Lord, saying: “Lord, hear our prayer.”

That amid all the estrangements which threaten the community of faith, Christ’s reconciling love may be experienced and shared; let us pray to the Lord:
Lord, hear our prayer.

That the nations of the world enslaved by oppression, violence, injustice, and warfare may change direction, seeking peace and the welfare of all people; let us pray to the Lord: Lord, hear our prayer.

That the sick, the homebound and those who care for them, and those who have asked for our prayers, including Chase, Robin, Daniell, Millard, and Kandine, may experience the healing power of Christ’s love; let us pray to the Lord: Lord, hear our prayer.

In thanksgiving for the marriage of Beth Elliott and Bob Kraft, and for our friends at San Pablo Parish in Camaguey, Cuba; let us pray to the Lord: Lord, hear our prayer.

That we who gather to celebrate the mystery of Christ’s resurrection may be willing to die to all unfaithfulness, and thereby witness to your redemptive power to bring life out of death; let us pray to the Lord: Lord, hear our prayer.

That those who have died, including Carmen Pottinger, Juanita Parrish, Brett Salter, Brad Hettinger, Billie Jo Hettinger, Collin Hettinger, and Courtney Hettinger, and those for whom the altar flowers are given: Vera and John O. Chiles, Edward McDuffie, Janet Dorsey Izlar, William Izlar, Denton Benjamin, Jim McGee, Marsha McGee, Bob Mick, Betsy Harper Shelander, Mary Banks, Gwyn Harper, Dorothy Vason, and Neal Vason, may live in the power of Christ’s victory over death; let us pray to the Lord: Lord, hear our prayer.

Into your hands, O Lord, we commit all those for whom we now pray, aloud or in silence; let us pray to the Lord: Lord, hear our prayer.
