Fall Foyer Groups
Our virtual (Zoom) foyer groups have been popular and St. Luke’s is offering a fall round of gatherings. These are online social gatherings where parishioners check-in about how they were getting along during the pandemic, share stories, laugh and get a small respite from the week’s news and campaign advertisements. Many participants say these weekly gatherings became a touchstone for feeling connected to friends and church family.
Here is how our Virtual Foyer Groups will work during the fall session. There will be multiple foyer groups meeting each week for five weeks between Monday, October 19 and Sunday, November 22. These group get-togethers will occur on the same day and at the same time each week, and they should last about an hour. In addition to the “open to all” sessions set by day of the week, there will be alternate options for those wishing to opt-in to groups formed around Sojourners (anyone 50+) and Newcomers to the parish. Groups should be limited to keep the sessions intimate, and assignments to a group will be strictly random. However, spouses/partners will be paired together if they register together. Gatherings will take place using Zoom, an easy to use, popular video conferencing platform. With the exception of an opening prayer, the foyer group format will be all about connecting socially. All one needs to participate in a group is a computer, tablet, or smart phone with camera and microphones built in.
We invite you to join us as we continue this new way of engaging with the parish; it is fun and easy. If you are interested in participating in a St. Luke’s Virtual Foyer Group, register below. and please do it by Sunday, October 11.
