Peace...

“The Peace of the Lord be with you.” It’s a strange greeting considering the number of simpler options that exist today: “howyalldoin”, “¡hola!”, “holla!”, or the standard ”tsup” (accompanied by the appropriate head flick). But Christians throughout the centuries have shared this greeting with one another as a recognition of what God is doing in us and through us in the world. A wise old minister once described the meaning behind this greeting this way : "Your life and my life flow into each other as wave flows into wave, and unless there is peace and joy and freedom for you, there can be no real peace or joy or freedom for me.”

The youth in ministry at St.Luke's strive to live into that Peace God offers us, and so figure out our place in this world as individuals and as the body of Christ. It’s a process, and one we’re always hoping to welcome others into. So, whether you’re considering joining us for the first time, or are already a familiar face, we look forward to the opportunity to pass the Peace with you face to face in the future. Until then, have a look around, see what’s happening with our Episcopal Youth Community (EYC), find out more about opportunities to plug in, or keep the schedule straight with the online calendar. Updates are always coming in. Check back soon and often.

Peace be with you...
