New Outreach Effort

St. Luke's Outreach is embarking on a new program of monthly awareness of needs in our community and opportunities to make a difference. Each month, a local organization (or two) will be highlighted and a list of that organization's needs will be included in our Welcome insert and newsletters. Baskets will be placed in front of the altar, in the Narthex, and in the reception area.

This month, we are collecting items for the foot clinics at the Church of the Common Ground and the Open Door Community, each ministers to the homeless. Here's a wish list of items:

* Epsom salt

* anti-bacterial soap (non-scented/ allergy free)

*shoe inserts (men's larger sizes)

*St Ives Apricot Scrub (or similar)

*pumice stones

*cuticle clippers

*nail files (large)

*buffer blocks

*medicated foot powder

* antifungal cream (Tolfanate)

*Lavender Essential Oil

*Tea Tree Essential Oil

* foot spas

* white socks for men, women & children

* Breeze (spray bottles)

* rubbing alcohol

*Peanut butter crackers (to eat, not for feet!)

In March we'll be collecting gently used prom dresses for children in Foster Care.

Dig Day in the Mustard Seed Garden

Grab your gardening gloves and join us at the Mustard Seed Garden winter Dig Day ...  Saturday, February 25 from 9-11:00 AM. We’ll be harvesting the existing bounty and re-planting more cool-weather crops. This is a great way to get to know other parishioners who share a passion for playing in the dirt. Refugee Resettlement Ministry

The Refugee Resettlement Ministry ... is preparing to welcome our fourth refugee family sometime this month. If you are interested in getting involved either through volunteering your time or donating items, we’d love to hear from you!  We have an urgent need for donations of gently used household items and furniture to help set up the family’s new apartment. The resettlement agency provides beds and mattresses but we could use almost anything else: dressers, dining table and chairs, end tables, lamps, linens, pots and pans, small appliances, etc. We will also need volunteers to help set up the apartment and to provide fellowship and transportation upon their arrival. If you are interested in volunteering or making donations, please contact Allison Ezell at allisonezell@yahoo.com or 404.584.7323.
